Still Waiting!!

Our surrogate went to see Dr Soni yesterday and she wants to give her another week to see if she goes into labour before she intervenes. So the waiting goes on!
From all the blogs and research we have looked at we have never seen a surrogate in India go this long, today we are 38weeks and 3days and if our surrogate does not go into labour before she is seen again by Dr Soni in a weeks time she will be 39weeks 2 days! Can anyone tell us how long their surrogates went and if this is unusual or have Michael and I just seen to much of the inside of this hotel room?
We will keep you pasted!

  1. This is normal, actually it's more normal that a woman goes full term than not, so I will say that Dr Soni does the right thing. It's the best thing for your baby as well. Full term is 40 weeks, and since she don't want to intervene your surroagate is probably doing very well, and don't have to much discomfort.

Soon you will be dads to a beutiful big full term baby :D

  2. Wow - always thought the average was 36/37 weeks (in India and western babies) for a singleton but there are no rules here and we have to do what our babies want - obviously baby WAM does not want to come out yet and is enjoying him/herself too much! Baby WAM is past what is considered full term (37/38 weeks)

I think you need to change hotels now otherwise you will go nuts!

    love CJAM

  4. Guys, get yourself a local mobile phone and get out and about. The average for a singleton in India definitely is around 36/37 weeks, so you are going for the record - but I do think I remember reading somewhere of someone who went 40 weeks. Hang in there!!

  5. Trust in Dr. Soni. Eva went to 38. According to Dr. Soni, she was not in the right position and it wasn't time yet. We ended up with a c-section as she got into position, but, only because her head was so big Dr. Soni was concerned about complications for a natural delivery for the surrogate and Eva.

When it is time, Dr. Soni will let you know...or in actuality, Baby WAM will let you know. Regardless, Dr. Soni will take of baby WAM and the surrogate and make sure everyone is healthy. Until then, get out and about so you don't go stir crazy.

  6. I think it is fantastic that baby WAM is going to be full term! It definately is rare for surrogacy in India but there are so many benefits. I'm sure the wait is hard though. Have you done any sight seeing?

We are looking forward to hearing about your very healthy baby!

  10. 38 weeks is a rarity, but best for baby ... any idea what Baby WAM weighs? I think she will be a big-un.
